Today, more than 80,000 migrants and descendants of that country live in the area.
This square pays tribute to the migration to our land in search of peace and a promising future.
The project, co-created with the comuna's design team, turns the square into a sea-and-land environment.
The sea area is defined by the boat-shaped play tower, mounds that simulate waves, sailboat balance platforms, a swing frame, and spinning tops. It also features a calm, restful area for early childhood with slides, sandboxes, and chalkboards.
A bridge then connects both play areas, evoking the immigrants' journey down to the continent.
Meanwhile, the land area evokes the characteristics of their arrival. Highlights in this section include:
"Refugio Choza" (Hut Shelter) play tower.
The forest of poles.
Slides.
Climbing structures.
The swing frame for early childhood.
Rest areas for parents.
